A mail storage limit it assigned to your domain according to the hosting package.
You can divide this limit your self into different mailboxes or you can use all in one mailbox.
For example: If you mail storage limit is 1GB
You can create
user1@domain.com : 5MB
user2@domain.com : 50MB
info@domain.com: 100MB
you@domain.com: 845MB.
After this your 1GB quota is finished and you cannot assign any more space to more mailboxes.
